After obtaining the degrees B. Comm (in 1986) and LLB (in 1988) at the university of Port Elizabeth, Andre was admitted as an attorney in 1991. He joined Minde Schapiro & Smith (“Mindes”) in that same year where he was a partner / director for 22 years until August 2016. Andre focuses on company law, the law of contract, insolvency law and general commercial litigation, in both the High Court and the Lower Courts. Andre has become a specialist in the law of landlord and tenant in regard to commercial, industrial and retail properties and provides legal advice and assistance to two listed companies and a number of other companies and groups in this regard. Andre is a past chairman of the Tygerberg Attorneys Association and served on the Taxation and High Court Committees of the Cape Law Society (‘CLS’) until the dissolution of the CLS and committees and formation of the Legal Practice Council. He contributes to the community by serving as a small claims commission in the small claims court on a pro bono basis.

Rick graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002 after obtaining a B Comm (Law) degree (in 2000) and a post-graduate LLB degree (in 2002). He joined Mindes in 2003 as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an attorney and a notary public in 2005. Rick specialises in company and banking law, the law of contract, insolvency law and commercial litigation, mainly in the High Court. Rick represents a well-known private bank as well a number of prominent businesses. Rick previously served as chairman of the Tygerberg Attorneys Association and served on the High Court Committee of the Cape Law Society (“CLS”) until the dissolution of the CLS and its committees and the formation of the Legal Practice Council.
